Press Release No. 129-2012
6 August 2012
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces that its website now features a searchable database of passports ready for release. The new system was launched on 6 August 2012, and replaces the old periodic lists posted on the website where Filipinos had to search in every list to find out if their passports have reached Riyadh.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has been working on this database which was launched on the website to further improve its services and make it easier for those waiting for their new passports to find out if the passport is ready for release.
In the meantime, the Embassy reiterates its earlier advisory (Press Release 041-2012 dated 12 March 2012) that passports which remain unclaimed for six months or more from the date of issuance will be cancelled in compliance with Department Order No. 37-03 dated 23 September 2003.
Filipinos who have not claimed their passports issued in the past six months or more may call 01-482-3818 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Those who need to renew their passports are advised to obtain an appointment from the online system on the website www.philembassy-riyadh.org. The online system requires a valid email address to send the confirmation of the appointment. Filipinos may choose the date and time of their appointment, as available on the website. Applicants should bring the printout of the confirmation, their original passport, a copy of the passport information page, an accomplished application form, and the passport fee of SR240 for renewal.
The appointment system greatly reduces the waiting time at the Embassy.
Appointments through SMS are no longer available since they have been suspended in 1 June 2012 (Press Release 080-2012 dated 22 May 2012).
Filipinos are also advised that the Embassy, in compliance with instructions, shall no longer extend the machine ready readable passport (green). As the process of obtaining an e-passport may take up to 30 days, Filipinos who need a passport should plan ahead and apply in advance to avoid inconveniences.
